An example of a Perfectly Relaxing Day when you’re at Midlife…

In our fast-paced world, finding time to relax and rejuvenate is essential for maintaining our well-being. Planning a relaxing day can be a great way to recharge and reset. Here’s my sample step-by-step routine; I hope this will help you plan a perfectly relaxing day tailored to your favorite activities.

Start with normal wake up routine

For me it’s meditation and gratitude prayer followed by a short stretch then a cup of warm lemon water. This is your time to ease into the day without any rush.

Chillin’ in the Kitchen

I then head to the kitchen for a therapeutic cooking session. Cooking can be incredibly relaxing, especially when you’re preparing something you love. I opt for a simple yet delicious recipe that brings me  joy. The process of chopping, stirring, and tasting can be very meditative.

Pamper myself with a Spa Session

I head to my favorite spa, but you can totally transform your home into a spa and treat yourself to a luxurious pampering session. Here’s how:

  • Relaxing Bath - Run a warm bath and add some soothing bath salts or a few drops of essential oils. Light some candles and play soft music to create a calming atmosphere.

  • Face Mask - Apply a nourishing face mask to give your skin a boost.

  • Manicure and Pedicure - Take the time to care for your nails. You can even give yourself a full manicure and pedicure.

Enjoy a Music Listening Session

Music has the power to elevate my mood and help me relax. I have created  a playlist of my favorite calming tunes and set aside some time to simply listen and enjoy. Whether it’s classical, jazz, or my favorite chill-out tracks, I let the music wash over me and melt away any stress.

Watch a Movie or Series

As the afternoon turns into evening, I continue your relaxing day with a movie or a few episodes of a TV series I love. This is the perfect time to get cozy on the couch and lose myself in a good story with my favorite cup of tea or bubbly😉

Prepare and Enjoy a Comforting Dinner

I end my day with a comforting dinner. Cooking dinner can be as relaxing as lunch, especially when I choose a favorite dish or try out a new recipe, I’ve been curious about. I pair my meal with my favorite wine for added comfort.

Wind Down with Reading and Meditation

As bedtime approaches, I wind down with a calming activity. I normally pick up a book I’ve been wanting to read or spend some time meditating. Focusing on my breathing and letting go of any remaining tension.

Planning a relaxing day doesn’t require a lot of effort; it’s all about choosing activities that bring you joy and help you unwind. Whether it’s watching movies, cooking, enjoying a spa session, listening to music, or simply being in the moment, the key is to create a day that feels restorative and stress-free. So, go ahead and plan your perfect relaxing day – you deserve it!
